Early this morning,
Makenna and I were able to enjoy sharing a yoga practice together!
We stretched tall like trees and curled small like kittens.
We lunged out like warriors and made ourselves into bridges.
We wiggled our toes and spread out our fingers.
We folded ourselves in two and laughed at our upside down faces and dancing hair.
We enjoyed our morning together.
We ran around and made playdough pies. We twirled and talked about Jesus.
It was finally time for lunch before having to make our way to pre-school.
As Makenna was hanging up her backpack,
she reached into her cubby,
pulled something out,
and throwing her arms around me said,
"Gramma, this is for YOU!... you just HAVE to have it!"
As I looked down at the little handmade construction paper gift,
I could not fail to quickly see what Makenna had so joyously placed within my hands...
...it was a little piece of her heart.
As I made my way home,
my own heart was very full indeed.
Treasuring the precious gift of my granddaughter's heart...
freely given.
